Prof. Andy Tsay delieved a lecture of "Publishing in Top International Journals"

In the afternoon of May 6th, Professor Andy A Tsay, came from Santa Clara University of USA, has gave an excellent academic report with entitled "Publishing in Top International Journals" for teachers and students of School of Economics & Management. The seminar was hosted by Professor Liu Lu.

The Classroom A1028 was full of people, some students even stood in the back of the classroom to listen to the report. At the beginning, Dr. Tsay briefly introduced his alma mater Stanford University and his current working location Santa Clara University with an overview of the major high tech companies in Silicon Valley, which aroused the great interest of everyone. Then he illustrated to us the organizational structures and the processes of reviewing manuscripts for top international journals with the example of Journal of Management Science. In the following next, he gave us a detailed explanation for the writing and reviewing concerns of important elements of a submission manuscript: Abstract, Introduction and Conclusions, which also covered the detailed explanation of the peer-review processes at such journals. Subsequently, Dr. Tsay analyzed and shared the reviewing concerns of peer reviewers and experts by virtue of his many years’ outstanding reviewer experience as the associate editor of top international journals. At last, Dr. Tsay interacted with the teachers and students for quite a while and answered their questions of concerns at details. His wonderful speech has received a warm welcome from everyone.

Professor Andy A Tsay (PhD from Stanford Business School; department Chair of Operations Management & IS, Santa Clara University Business School) has served as an Associate Editor or equivalent at top international journals such as Management Science (8 years), Production & Operations Management (3 years, continuing), and IIE Transactions (5 years), and on the editorial board of Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. During this time Dr. Tsay has handled more than 100 rounds of manuscript reviews as Associate Editor or referee for these journals.

Since 2006, he has been a visiting professor in Peking University's National School of Development to teach the BiMBA program.
