On January 24th, 2018,in Room A716 of the New Main Building, Dr. Peng Wu was invited to give alecture entitled "Large-Size Lane Reservation Problems". The lecturewas hosted by Associate professor Tianliang Liu.

Special events such aslarge-scale sports events in a large city require that the related persons andarticles could be geographically dispersed for a given period of operation.Lane reservation strategiesareoften used to meet the case of heavy traffic jams for special task vehicles cantravel fast on reserved lanes. However, lane reservation would have a negativeimpact on the normal traffic as well. In this lecture, aiming to study theoptimization of lane reservation strategy, Dr. Wu built an improved IP modelwith valid inequalities. After analyzing the model properties, a fast andeffective improved algorithm is proposed. The numerical results showed that theproposed algorithm can produce high-quality solutions in a relatively short periodof time.

Dr. Peng Wu iscurrently an assistant professor in School of Economics and Management, FuzhouUniversity. He got PhD degree at Paris-Saclay University and NorthwesternPolytechnical University. Dr. Wu is mainly engaged in operations management, logistics and optimization of management research, and has published 19 papersin academic journals or conferences, such as IEEETransactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions onSystems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, Computers & Industrial Engineering.
