Associate Prof. Hua Zhong: Planning for a (Less) Rainy Day: Evaluating the RegionalWelfare Impacts of Water Infrastructure Investment

On 27th April, 2018, we welcome Associate Prof. Hua Zhongto our Bi-Week Applied Economics Colloquium.Prof.Zhongdelivered a talk titled as Planning for a (Less) Rainy Day: Evaluating theRegional Welfare Impacts of Water Infrastructure Investment. Prof. Zhong obtained his Ph. D in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Kentucky.His research interests focus in the areas of environmental and natural resourceeconomics, and general equilibrium model. His current research examinesregional welfare impacts of water infrastructure investment in western U.S. TheColloquium is coordinated by Assistant Prof. Chunan Wang from School of Economicsand Management at Beihang University.  

During the lecture, over 20 scholars and students from the SEM were involved in discussion.They raised questions about the paper’s methodological framework and empirical strategies,which provokes further thinking on the issues from both parties.
