On June 7, 2022, the "Engineering Management Forum" series of School of Economics and Management of Beihang University was successfully held online. The topic of this lecture is "Urban Shared Parking Management: From Modeling to Application".This lecture invited Xu Meng, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Beijing Jiaotong University.
In recent years, with the development of technology and sharing economy, urban shared parking services have been gradually possible. Urban shared parking services are crucial to alleviate the problem of urban parking difficulties and improve urban travel services. Combining the current background and research status of urban shared parking development, Professor Xu Meng introduces the latest research within the subject group, including the condensation of key scientific problems, modeling and analysis methods, and management applications, etc. He introduces three shared parking matching models: the residential shared parking matching model based on platform reservation, the residential shared parking matching model considering user arrival, and the residential shared parking matching model considering supplying user benefits. Two related extension studies are introduced.
Professor Xu's logical and insightful presentation broadened our horizon and brought new research inspiration. Teachers and students at the conference had in-depth discussions and exchanged ideaswith Prof. Xu. The presentation was successfully concluded in a warm atmosphere.
Profile: Xu Meng is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Jiaotong University. His main research areas: urban transportation system complexity; transportation complex system modeling, optimization and analysis. Currently, he has conducted research on urban traffic demand management, urban parking management, resilient urban traffic management, sustainable transportation development and governance. He provides innovative research and applied practice on key scientific issues in the study of urban integrated transportation governance mechanisms and policies. He has presided over one major project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and one excellent youth project. Besides, he published more than 120 academic papers and applied for several national invention patents.
