At 9:00 am on June 7, 2022, Professor Yugang Yu of University of Science and Technology of China was invited to attend the"Engineering Management Forum"and gave a lecture on the topic of "Management theory and method of platform supply chain"via a video conference.
Prof. Yu of University of Science and Technology of China is the principal of NSFC National Innovation Group Program, principal of NSFC Major Programs, National Outstanding Youth Fund and other national Leading Talent winner, Highly Cited Scholar of China (Elsevier, 2014-2021, consecutive 8 years). He is a member of the University Party Committee, executive dean of the School of Management, dean of the Institute of International Finance, and director of the Key Laboratory of Modern Logistics and Supply Chain in Anhui Province. His research results are focused on modern logistics and modern supply chain management based on disruptive technologies and data, including robotic logistics, platform supply chain, two-carbon supply chain, data science, etc.
In this lecture, the frontiers of platform supply chain management theory and methodology were discussed. Prof. Yu introduced 5 major research fields and key problems, i.e., ecological design and evaluation of the platform supply chain, statistical learning methods for platform supply chain, business intelligence theory and method in platform supply chain, value creation-oriented platform supply chain integration and risk management of platform supply chain based on intelligent simulation, and by combining with practice, some future research directions are proposed. Finally, Prof. Yu made many sincere suggestions on talent cultivation in the School of Economics and Management and provided guidance for the teaching reform of our school.
Prof. Yu's logical and simple explanation broadened audiences' horizon and brought new research enlightenment. The audiences had an in-depth discussion and exchanged ideas with Prof. Yu on the practical applications of platform supply chain management.
