Acting through trial panels and an appeals court, the WTO determines whether governments violate trade treaty commitments. This lecture looks at how the process works, whether it actually settles disputes, and whether WTO decisions cross the line between applying law and making law.
Topic 2: 《China’s WTO Cases》
Abstract:
China is now one of the most active users of the WTO judiciary. This lecture examines both cases brought by China and cases brought against China, asking whether WTO rulings both protect China’s WTO treaty rights and ensure that China carries out its WTO treaty obligations.
