Abstract:

Many Chinese (speaking) scholars have tried to answer the question of how to develop concepts and theories that are indigenous to the Chinese context over the years. This seminar offers insights from one of the latest endeavors in this regard. First, we will present the study titled “Powered by ‘qinghuai’: the Melding of traditional values and digital entrepreneurships in contemporary China”, where the indigenous concept ‘qinghuai’ will be introduced and the process by which such concept was developed will be discussed. Second, we will reflect on the challenges and tactics in developing indigenous concepts that have the potential to be published in international outlets.
