The laboratory was initiated based on the demand of emergency support from Beijing. By taking the technological advantages in emergency support and simulation from the SEM and the school of Computer Science and Engineering, the lab investigates the analysis and design of urban emergency support system, emergency support protocol, and the related policy issues. With the target of maintaining safe and orderly municipal operation, the lab identifies the key contributing factors and integrates them into design of emergency support system. The lab also provides scientific advice in terms of emergency support protocol design and the evaluation of emergency support policy, as well as the related case studies.
