Dr.Qingbin Meng: Bank Competition and Enterprise Earnings Management
On 2nd November, 2018, we welcomed the speaker Dr. Qingbin Meng from Renmin University ofChina. He obtained his Ph.D.in Economics in Nankai University.Dr. Meng is also the referee for Journal of Financial Research, Journalof Management Sciences in China, AMAS and SPIA andother related journals. His research focuses on Asset Pricing and FinancialEngineering.In the seminar, Dr. Meng presented his last research “Bank Competition and EnterpriseEarnings Management”.The results of the study demonstrate that competitive market structure of banking industrysignificantly alleviates firms’ earnings management.
More than 20 teachersand students of the School of Economics and Management have participated in theseminar and discussed the study with Dr. Meng. We are looking forward to the Bi-WeekApplied Economics Colloquium next week.
