Professor Wenyan Song Wins the 2023 Emerald Literati Awards

Recently, the results of the 2023 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence were announced. Professor Wenyan Song, as the lead author of the paper "Substitution and complementarity dynamics in configurations of sustainable management practices," received the 2023 Emerald Literati Awards - Highly Commended Paper international award.

Thisresearch was published in 2022 in the International Journal of Operations & Production Management. The research investigates the substitution and complementarity relationships among different types of sustainable operation practices and the mechanisms through which different combinations of practices impact company performance. This study has unveiled the "black box" between sustainable operational practices and business performance, offering managers a new perspective for designing and implementing sustainable operational strategies.

Emerald Publishing was established in 1967 and is one of the world's largest publishers of journals in management, economics, engineering, and library science. Emerald has been globally selecting and presenting the Emerald Literati Awards for nearly 30 years. This international award evaluates contributions based on innovative breakthroughs in topics or methods, excellent framework structures and textual foundation, rigorous analysis, and relevance to practice and future research. The aim is to praise and reward scholars for their outstanding contributions to academic research.
