On 12th October, 2018, we welcome Dr.Heng An to our Bi-Week Applied Economics Colloquium.Dr. An is an Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure) and Kathleen PriceBryan Dean's Notable Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Hisresearch interests focus on corporate finance, institutional investors, andreal estate finance. Dr. An presented his paper “The Impact of Hedge Fund Activismon Corporate Cost Behavior”. The Colloquium is coordinated by Associate Prof. HuaZhong from School of Economics and Management at Beihang University.
About 20 faculties and studentsfrom the SEM and other schools at the Beihang University joined the presentation,and discussed his paper’s research motivation, identification strategies, empiricalresults, and research limitations. After the presentation, both faculties andstudents showed great enthusiasm for his study, and provided future researchsuggestions.
