Basic Information

Xiaoping (Pauline) Tong is an assistant professor at the School of Economics and Management of Beihang University. She holds a Ph.D. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree from Peking University, and a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University.

Dr. Tong’s research interest is centered on human resource management, including training and development, social media facilitated human resources, international human resource development, and leadership, among others. She has published journal articles, book chapters and international conference papers in recent years. She serves currently as an editorial committee member ofJournal of Human Resource Management.

Dr. Tong once worked in Peking University as a course instructor, an editorial member of an English academic book,Handbook of Workplace Learning, a guest panelist of the 2021 China Change Weinar of Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD), a specialguest speaker at the 2021 Talent Strategy Sumit in China, in addition to a reviewer of an international conference and many other academic and professional involvement.

Dr. Tong is currently the principal investigator of an industrial consulting project and a major member of a COVID-19 instructional case development project sponsored by the China Ministry of Education, in addition to projects she led or participated that have been completed.
