On 12th October, 2018, we welcome Dr. Heng An to our Bi-Week Applied Economics Colloquium. Dr. An is an Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure) and Kathleen Price Bryan Dean's Notable Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. His research interests focus on corporate finance, institutional investors, and real estate finance. Dr. An presented his paper “The Impact of Hedge Fund Activism on Corporate Cost Behavior”. The Colloquium is coordinated by Associate Prof. Hua Zhong from School of Economics and Management at Beihang University.
About 20 faculties and students from the SEM and other schools at the Beihang University joined the presentation, and discussed his paper’s research motivation, identification strategies, empirical results, and research limitations. After the presentation, both faculties and students showed great enthusiasm for his study, and provided future research suggestions.
