On 20th April,2018, we welcome Assistant Prof.Ziyan Yangto our Bi-Week Applied EconomicsColloquium.Dr.Yangdelivered a talk titled as Contract Design in China’s RuralLand Rental Market:Contractual Flexibility and Rental Payment. Dr. Ziyan Yangis an assistantprofessor in the Department of Economics and the Chow Center atXiamen University. Her research interests focus on institutionaleconomics,agricultural development and the rural economy in China. Currently,she workson China’s rural land rental market from theperspectives of rental contractarrangements, village institutions, andagricultural-induced environmentalpollution. She conducts field surveys inrural China. The Colloquium iscoordinated by Associate Prof. Xueying Yu fromSchool of Economics and Management at Beihang University.
Duringthelecture, over 20 scholars and students from the SEM were involved indiscussion.They raised questions about the paper’s methodological frameworkand empirical strategies,which provokes further thinking on the issues fromboth parties.
